KTP
is a student organization in Rutgers University whose mission
is to produce television programs and films while encouraging
students to learn the various aspects of video production.
Everything
is student run, so I had the chance to work on many different
tasks, from organizing crews for shoots to designing DVD
labels.
List
of accomplished projects:
- Writer
and Director of a 13 min. short film called "There
& Back"
- Helped
produce and shoot a 30 min. variety sketch comedy show entitled
"Knight Show"
- Produced,
directed and edited a 20 min. documentary about the artist
and sculptor Sal Romano, titled "Baroque Minimalism."
Wrote a successful grant proposal for $500 to finance it.
- Produced
and Directed a 20 min. documentary about the RU Class of
'54 celebrating their 50th reunion.
- Camera
operator on over 30 shoots, sound operator on over 40 shoots.
- Helped
generate over $8130 to fund a new Apple G5 editing suite,
shotgun microphone, boom pole, DVD burner, external hard
drives, headphones, camera and tape deck maintenance and
other overhead costs. An additional $3600 for programs and
productions was allocated and budgeted through student government
funding.
- Tracked
expenses and managed receipts, check reimbursements, invoices
and budget proposals.
- Organized
and coordinated a showcase screening presenting the comedic
sketches and films done by our members during the semester.
Over 70 guests came throughout the 2 hour event.
- Produced
and directed 3 sketch comedy skits and trained 7 members
to shoot and edit.
- Designed
layouts for various flyers, labels, cases, and promotional
products. Canvassed the university campus to promote programs
and recruit members.
